Hello, my name is Elijah.  I am a Brittany, and my doctor tells me I’m very handsome.  I know I’m really smart, and sometimes bored.  Mama says this is a bad combination.
I love adventure.
I’m really good at digging holes.  I may be a world champion at that.  I really love to meet new big people.  They think I’m cute.
Last summer my people loaded me up in my kennel and we flew a long way from Germany to a new house and place to play.  But I want to see more.  I don’t like the fence around the yard in the back.  I can’t see what’s going on in the rest of the neighborhood and street.  What if I’m missing something?
I can chew through a wooden fence in no time flat.  I chew just enough, then dig, and dig some more, just enough.  I can squeeze myself into, out of, and through amazingly small spaces.  Then VOILA! – the world awaits!!
Don’t get me wrong, I love my family.  I just need to be out and about and social.
So far, I’ve met all kinds of nice people in our neighborhood.  They smile and give me water.  I smile back and wag my tail-nub.  They love me.  I’m a rockstar.
Then they call my mama.  Her phone number is on my tag.  As we wait for her to come get me, they love me more.  Last week I got to ride in a Jeep when my new friend brought me home!  What a great adventure.  Then another neighbor walked with me to my house, just down the street.  It seems they are beginning to know where I live.
Once in our village in Germany, I found that our Burgermeister (mayor) loved me too.  Just as I thought!  I found his home one day when I was out exploring.  Mama tracked me down though!  She used the Polizei and lots of sign language with our nice neighbor, Frau Maas.
Mama would love to hear new ideas in the comment box about keeping me at home.   My nice doctor even gave me some pills that would make me calmer, but mama doesn’t really see much change. Sometimes when I hear thunder or rain I get scared and get the shakes.  Luckily, storms here don’t last long and I’m lovable again soon after the skies calm.
Mama said I could write more when I have a new adventure.  I don’t think it will be long.
